Carmine
Potirniche.

I make software I want to use. AI workspaces, native video tools, and the systems underneath them. Software engineer at Crytica Security.

Two projects. Every layer.

From the interface you touch to the runtime that makes it work.

Umbratic

Umbratic’s current code review with compact feedback, layout, and editor controls

Creator & Engineer Project · 2025 - present

The AI workspace I build in, every day.

Architecture
Electron and React desktop, Rust execution runtime, and a Go gateway. Local models, your own server, ChatGPT, or Claude.
Runtime design
Dependency-aware parallel tools, context compaction, resumable state, bounded retries, and permission boundaries.
Engineering
I define interfaces and acceptance criteria, direct scoped agents, review patches, and validate the integrated system.
Engineering details

Image references, project chats, live steering, queued prompts, and a compact review panel. File-level feedback and editor shortcuts keep the next step close. The runtime handles permissions, cancellation, context, and artifact tools.

Open source under the MIT License. I use it as a working environment and keep improving the details as I go.

GamePack

GamePack's native video review workspace with blue frame annotations, a comment and reply, and numbered timeline markers

Creator & Lead Engineer In development

Offline video review, with drawings and conversations tied to the exact frame.

Architecture
Shared React Native/TypeScript interface, native macOS and Windows playback hosts, and a Rust/SQLite engine connected through CXX.
Review workflow
Organize footage into projects, annotate a frozen frame, and discuss it in threaded comments. Review playback stops at commented frames.
Engineering
I build across the interface, native media integration, and local storage, keeping playback, drawings, and comment markers in sync.
Engineering details

AVPlayer on macOS and MediaPlayer on Windows handle native playback. Frame stepping, Watch/Review modes, and zoom connect the player to the annotation workspace.

Media imports use incremental BLAKE3 hashing and verified copies to avoid duplicate files. SQLite transactions save comments and drawings together; stable draft IDs make posting safe to retry.

Crytica Security

Software Engineer Nov. 2025 - present

Security software, from requirements to installation.

I architected and developed a multi-tenant administration console in JavaScript/PHP over a C backend, plus a RHEL 9 bootstrap script and installer wizard that deploy the full product across 3–12 servers. I own requirements, delivery milestones, and release readiness in collaboration with leadership.

Across the project, I orchestrated hundreds of AI agents and subagents, reviewed and integrated their work, and validated the product with 100+ automated tests and black-box end-to-end tests of user input flows. Centralized authorization and parameterized SQL protect console access; subprocess isolation improves synchronization across 9+ ledgers.
